Our ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certificates were issued by CQC to Changzhou FreeGo Robotics, and anyone can check their numbers on cqc.com.cn. So skip the certificate wall on audit day. Spend the hours on the line, at the water tank and in the battery store.
1. Check the certificates before you fly
On each certificate, read the issuer and the holder first, then the scope and its expiry date. Ours name CQC, the China Quality Certification Centre, as issuer and Changzhou FreeGo Robotics, Silver Home's own factory in the Wujin High-Tech Zone, as holder; all three run to September 2029. A certificate in another company's name, or for other products at another address, tells you nothing about the pool robot line you'll buy from.

ISO 9001 proves a quality system exists. To see it working, ask the factory for one closed corrective action with its root cause.
2. Read the BSCI report for what it is
The amfori BSCI audit is a social audit. It looks at how a factory treats people: working hours, wages, health and safety, and whether workers can raise complaints. Our Changzhou factory is audited under amfori BSCI by TÜV Rheinland. If your customers require it, ask for the latest report and check its date. It says nothing about how a pool robot is built, so it can't stand in for a line visit.
3. Book a day when your model is on the line
Ask for the production schedule a week ahead, and pick a day when your pool robot model is being assembled.
An empty assembly line looks tidy and tells you almost nothing.

4. Stand at the water tank
Every robot we build runs in a water tank before packing. Stand there for a few cycles and ask three things: what counts as a fail, where a failed unit goes, and who signs it out. A factory that tests every unit should be able to show you the ones that didn't pass, and what happened to them next.
5. Hold a unit against the approved sample
Our cosmetic standard holds part gaps and steps under 0.3 mm and matches colors against approved samples. At final inspection, ask for the approved sample of your model, take a finished robot off the line and set the two side by side under the station light. A feeler gauge in your pocket lets you measure a gap yourself. Then read the final inspection checklist and watch whether the inspector follows it.
6. Follow one battery from goods-in to the carton
Lithium batteries are the one area a pool robot audit can't skip. Watch how packs are received and stored before assembly, then pick a finished robot and ask which battery is inside. The UN38.3 test report and MSDS your forwarder needs have to belong to that exact battery, so compare the model printed on the pack with the one named in the documents.
An audit shows one or two days. It can't tell you how the last carton of your order compares with the first; a pre-shipment inspection does that. Nor does it show how a design holds up over a pool season. For the Y50S, that was the job of 20 validation tests and 75 checkpoints in QM test 24089, each with a written pass standard.

Planning an audit? Send your auditor's checklist and the pool robot model you're buying, and we'll send the documents on the request list ahead of the visit.
