Dichtheitsprüfungen: „Bestanden“ allein reicht nicht
Ein bestandener Dichtheitstest braucht Kontext. Prüfen Sie getestetes Gehäuse, Abnahmegrenzen und Produktionsaufzeichnungen vor der Bestellfreigabe.

Our Y50S validation report includes a motor-housing pressure test at 0.05 MPa, followed by a submerged bubble check. The samples passed. For a buyer approving a pool robot, that result deserves a closer look: what was tested, what counted as a failure, and how does the result connect to the units being shipped?
A pool robot leak-test result is only useful when its scope is clear.
Start with the housing on the test bench
Ask the supplier to identify the sealed compartment in the report. A motor housing, a battery compartment and a complete assembled robot are different test objects. Keep the photograph, part description and drawing reference together. If the supplier shows a pressure-test station during a factory visit, ask which compartment is connected to it and which seals sit outside that test boundary.
For the Y50S record above, the named object is the motor housing. We do not use that line to claim that every compartment underwent the same procedure. An importer reviewing another model should ask for that model’s own evidence, even when the robots share a similar outer shell.
What does the pressure reading actually show?
The test pressure is the starting condition. To assess a motor-housing result, also request the hold time, permitted pressure change, instrument identification and the rule used to accept or reject a sample. A screenshot showing a green “pass” light leaves those questions unanswered. Put the acceptance criteria beside the result before signing off the pool robot sample.
Leak-detection specialist INFICON explains that temperature changes affect pressure-decay measurements. It also distinguishes a pressure change, which indicates tightness, from visible bubbles that help locate a leak. These are general measurement principles. They do not establish a pressure threshold or a pass standard for a pool robot.
Ask how the factory controls and records conditions around the housing test.
Keep validation and production records separate
Our Y50S validation record describes a defined test on samples. Separately, every production robot runs in a water tank before packing and receives a final inspection. A buyer should be able to distinguish those records: the validation evidence for the design, and the inspection evidence associated with the production order.
Before ordering, request an example of the production water-test record and ask how it connects to the shipment. Agree what the record should contain, how failed units are identified, and what evidence is retained after correction. These are purchasing checks to agree with a supplier; the existence of a validation report alone does not answer them.
A changed seal needs a documented decision
If the factory changes a seal material, housing part or assembly process, ask which existing results remain applicable and which checks must be repeated. Put the answer in the approval record for the affected pool robot. A purchasing team needs a named change and a reasoned response, rather than an older test report attached to a new sample without explanation.
Do not turn a housing test into a claim about years of use in pool water. The result covers its recorded conditions. Chemical exposure, mechanical wear and use outside the manual require separate evidence before they become selling points. Keep those claims out of the retailer listing until the supplier can support them.
The evidence to request before sample approval
Request the model and revision, the compartment tested, the procedure, the acceptance limits and the result record. Then ask for the production water-test record separately. A supplier who can explain the connection between those documents gives your quality team something concrete to review before the pool robots are packed.
For a Y50S evaluation, request our validation test summary through the form below. Tell us which housing or water-ingress question your quality team needs to resolve so we can point you to the relevant test.
