¿El robot se atasca en los escalones? Evalúelo antes de aprobarlo
Revise escalones, repisas y recuperación del movimiento al aprobar las muestras. Una guía práctica para sustentar las afirmaciones de cobertura con pruebas.
Film the pool robot before anyone lifts it off the step. That uninterrupted sequence is more useful for sample approval than a close-up taken after it has stopped. Our recommendation for importers is simple: assess how the robot handles the actual pool layout before approving a claim about steps or shallow ledges.
A wall-climbing label does not settle the question of pool steps.
Define what “stuck” means in this pool
Write down what the robot did. Did it avoid the step, drive onto it and stop, return to the pool floor, or continue moving while leaving debris behind? Those observations describe different outcomes. Mark the location on a pool sketch and keep the full approach and recovery in the video. Avoid summarising every result as a navigation failure.
Ask the supplier whether the exact model is intended to clean that step or ledge. Request the applicable instructions and operating conditions before attempting a sample run there. Instructions for another robot do not establish a safe water depth, a compatible step shape or a cleaning promise for the model you are buying.
Record the pool geometry before the trial
Measure the step’s usable surface, the rise to the next level and the water depth above it. Photograph the edges, nearby handrails and the transition back to the floor. Include any drain cover near the route without moving or modifying it. This gives the supplier a defined pool feature to assess instead of a vague request to “fix the stairs.”
Keep the pool sketch with the sample record.
Also record the robot’s selected mode, the pool surface, the filter condition and the starting point. Follow the model’s manual for preparation and operation. Changing several conditions between runs makes the comparison hard to interpret; document each deliberate change and retain the original result, including an unsuccessful run.
Watch the recovery as well as the approach
Once the model and conditions are confirmed as suitable, observe the robot through the agreed cleaning cycle. Record whether it reaches the step, leaves it without assistance and resumes cleaning the pool. Count interventions separately from cleaning results. A robot that needs a lift has produced a different outcome from one that returns to the floor by itself.
Agree the acceptance rule with the supplier before judging the sample. For example, your evaluation record can distinguish reaching the ledge, removing visible debris and returning to the main pool. These are proposed buyer checks, not results we claim for every model. Do not substitute an edited demonstration for the agreed test.
Match the retail promise to the evidence
If your target customers expect their pool steps to be cleaned automatically, require evidence for that specific use before selecting the model. If the supplier cannot support it, narrow the retail description to the verified cleaning areas. The product page, packaging and support script should make the same promise about the pool robot.
Our Y50S validation work uses written pass standards and tester and reviewer sign-off. That is a useful discipline for a buyer’s sample record. It does not, by itself, demonstrate step cleaning in your pool. Keep a separate record for the geometry and operating conditions your team has actually evaluated.
Give support a clip they can work with
Keep the pool sketch, model identification, selected mode and uninterrupted video together. Add a short note describing the intervention, if any, and where the robot went afterwards. This gives the supplier a focused case to investigate and lets your team compare the next trial against the same pool feature.
