“It just stops in the afternoon after a cloudy week.” Sell a solar skimmer as what it is, a battery skimmer that the sun tops up, and put the adapter in the first line of the listing.
Both of our skimmers, the S100 and Y90 Pro, charge from their solar panel or from an adapter.
What a grey week does to the battery
On a bright day the panel puts energy back while the skimmer works. Under heavy cloud it puts back little, and the skimmer lives on what the battery stored earlier. One grey day after a sunny spell passes unnoticed. A run of them, with the panel never catching up, shortens each day's skimming until the unit stops mid-pool. Neither product page gives a cloudy-day runtime, and we won't guess one: the S100's 25 hours and the Y90 Pro's 17 are ceilings set by light.

Cheapest checks first
Where did it stop? A Y90 Pro at the pool edge has parked, which it's built to do. A skimmer pinned against the pool's own skimmer opening may be held there by the circulation pump's suction; switch the pump off briefly and see whether it drifts free.
Then the charge. The S100's app shows the battery level, so an owner can watch it fall before the skimmer stops. On either model, ask when it last had a full adapter charge.
Then the panel. Morning shade from a fence or trees, or a film of pollen or dust, cuts what the panel collects long before anyone calls the day cloudy. Wipe it whenever the basket is emptied. The S100's 20 W panel has twice the rated output of the Y90 Pro's 10 W, so it collects more in the same light; neither makes up for a sunless week.

Last, charge it fully from the adapter and run a normal day. If the skimmer comes back, the problem was charge.
If a full charge doesn't fix it
Every S100 and Y90 Pro goes through a water test at the end of our line, so each one left the factory working. A skimmer that stops again after a full adapter charge, with a clean panel and nothing holding it, is a case for the 1-year warranty on the whole unit. Ask the owner for the battery reading in the S100 app, or a short video of the stop.
Put the adapter in the listing
A title that says “solar-powered” and nothing more tells the shopper the skimmer never needs a plug. Write “solar and adapter charging” in the title or first bullet, give runtime as “up to”, and add one weather line: on cloudy days the skimmer runs on its battery, so top it up with the adapter. Show the adapter beside the panel on the quick-start card. Changing that artwork before the boxes are printed costs far less than answering the questions after.

Where grey spells are long or pools sit under trees, list the S100 rather than the Y90 Pro. The Y90 Pro, rated for 100–150 m², suits smaller pools in open sun.
Ask for the quick-start card above as editable artwork for your skimmer's box insert; your designer only needs to add your logo and language.
