Pool Robot Spec Sheets: What to Compare
The spec lines that predict pool robot returns, from pool size rating and runtime basis to filter and surfaces cleaned, and how to compare sheets fairly.

Line up a few suppliers' spec sheets and the eye goes straight to the big numbers, flow rate and runtime. The lines that decide whether a robot comes back are quieter. What surfaces does it clean? What pool size is it really rated for? What was the runtime measured on? We write the spec sheets for our own 12 models, so we know which lines are easy to make look good and which ones a buyer should push on.
What pool size is it really rated for?
Start with the maximum pool size. A robot that's too small for the pool leaves the far end dirty, and the owner reports it as faulty. Our sheets rate the Y10 and Y20 at 100 m², the C1, C2, C3 and C5 at 150 m², the Y50S at 200 m² and the Y50 at 400 m². Skimmers are given as ranges: 150–200 m² for the S100 and 100–150 m² for the Y90 Pro. Check whether each sheet uses square meters or square feet before you compare anything, and buy for the pools your customers actually have, with room to spare.
Is that runtime real?
A runtime figure is only as good as its basis. Ask which cleaning mode it was measured in, whether the battery was new and fully charged, and roughly how warm the water was. Watch the units too. Our floor-only sheets list 120, 135, 180 and 210 minutes, the Y50S lists 150 minutes and the Y50 lists 4.5 hours, and a quick scan down a column of minutes can misread that last one. Skimmer runtimes, like the S100's up to 25 hours, depend on how much sun the pool gets.
Battery capacity needs the same care. Our sheets list 2600 mAh on the Y20, 4500 mAh on the C1 and C2 and 10400 mAh on the Y50. Milliamp-hours without the voltage don't tell you how much energy is in the pack, so ask for watt-hours. That's the number you can compare between suppliers, and your forwarder will want it for the battery shipping documents anyway.
Will the filter cope with our customers' dirt?
Read the filter rating and the basket volume together. The micron figure tells you what gets caught, and the liters tell you how long it takes to fill. All six of our floor-only robots use 180 µm filtration, with a 3 L basket on most and 1.5 L on the C3. The Y50S and Y50 carry 4 L baskets, and the Y50 adds a 10 µm fine filter. A fine filter in a small basket clogs quickly in a leafy pool, and a clogged filter shows up as weak suction and missed patches long before anyone opens the basket.
Does it clean the walls?
If we could move one line to the top of every sheet, it would be this one. Ours say "Pool floor only" for the six floor-only models, "Floor, walls and waterline (4 cleaning modes)" for the Y50S and Y50, and "Water surface only" for the skimmers. Whatever the sheet says has to reach the retail box and the online listing word for word. Copywriters like to round up, and "cleans your whole pool" on a floor-only listing is exactly the kind of rounding that turns into a return.
What does it do when the battery runs low?
Our floor-only sheets describe parking in several ways: self-parks, parks near the wall, returns to the edge, docks by the wall, returns to the poolside. They all mean the robot heads for the wall when the battery is low, so the owner can reach it from the side. A word on a sheet proves little, though, so ask for a short video of the model parking in a pool shaped like your customers'. Lifting it out belongs on the sheet too: our C2 lists fast water drainage, so it empties in seconds once it leaves the water.
Charging time is easy to leave off a sheet altogether. Our C5 sheet lists a full charge in 3.5–4.5 hours. If a sheet doesn't say, ask, because it decides whether the owner can run the robot again the same day.
How do we compare two suppliers' sheets fairly?
Put every sheet into one table with the same rows in the same order. Convert flow rates, pool sizes and runtimes to one unit each before comparing anything. Leave blanks empty and send them back as questions, because a blank filled with a guess is worse than no figure at all. Mark every "up to" figure so it isn't set against a measured one, and compare models rated for the same pool size at the same price step. Certification lines need the same care. Certifications are issued per model, so a list of marks means little until it's tied to the exact model and your market.
Then pick the lines that matter most for your channel and check them on a sample. A runtime that comes with a mode, a water temperature and a battery state is one you can build a listing around.
FAQ
Can you send specs for several models in one table?
Yes. Tell us which models you're comparing and we'll send their specifications together and answer any blanks you find.
Why do your runtimes differ so much between models?
Batteries, motors and the surfaces covered all differ. The C1 lists a 4500 mAh battery and 210 minutes on the pool floor. The Y50 lists 10400 mAh, 4 brushless motors and 4.5 hours, and it cleans the walls and waterline as well as the floor.
